Look, I said this wasn't going to be quick.

It has taken forever to get this post done.  I actually finished the bathroom (ok, MOSTLY finished the bathroom) a few weeks ago.  But life, as life does, has really taken some unexpected turns in the last month and brought me along for the ride.  So, the bath got pushed to the back burner.

BUT.... let's get to the good stuff - the finished product.

Here is where it was...remembe this post?.kind of...ick....

and...let's not ignore the other eyesore...the opposite side...remember this?

and....here is where it is today...thanks to some gentle prodding...and friendly inquiries from Megan (no, i didn't fall off of the planet - but a lot of stuff did happen)

It's come a long way and i'm really liking the way it turned out...and i am in love with the little stuff - the green glass knobs, the TJ Maxx rug, and the Edison lightbulb fixture.

We did the beadboard a few months back, and trimmed out the door frames at the same time - kind of 'chunked' 'em up.
and then it sat dormant for MONTHS.

Then, my grandmother died.  And grief is a weird thing for me.  I cry, and i do stuff.  clean. organize. in this instance, I sanded.  then painted.  then glazed. and cried some more.

And i worked through it.  And I think I'm going to be ok :)

I'll post some more pics of the opposite side of the room next - becauseI still have 3 things to do - add shelves above the toilet - and swap out the faucet as well as the Marilyn Monroe light fixture above the mirror.

  2. Oh thank heavens you are back! I have missed you so! I am so sad that you lost your grandmother. I know how bad that hurts. Wish I could come over and give you a hug in person. I am glad that you are pouring yourself into something and this bathroom looks awesome! I love the door framing {your hubby does it again!} and you did a great job painting the cabinets. Big love your way and let's catch up soon.

  3. Hi! So glad to see you back. First, I want to say how sorry we are at the loss of your grandmother. V and I lost our grandmother right before Christmas, so we completely understand the grief you are feeling. It's nice to have a project to pour those feelings into, and your bathroom has turned out beautifully! I Love the beadboard and the dark vanity, it has completely transformed the room. Thank you for sharing with us at Inspiration Friday and again, so glad to see you at the party!
