Next on the "List"

Ever since we moved into this house, there has been this "list".  We all have one, and mine is no different from yours, I'm sure.  Some will get done, as money and time allow, and much will not.  I'm cool with that.  I think.  The aging part of me is anyway.  The type A personality of me, maybe not.  We'll see.

Last year, we put in the pool.  Money well spent. That pool saved me lots of money that would have otherwise been used for psychotherapy - happy mommy, happy life.

Here is what's next on my list - Megan, if you're reading, you will be very happy i think.

Paint my bathroom vanity.  Black.  I've been putting if off and I can't stand to look at it any longer.  Wish me luck - I hate screwing something up and spending more money to fix it after, but I'm telling myself that it can't look any worse and it's not going to get any better without my intervention - so i need to suck it up.  I'll let you know how it goes.

This is it's current state - you might remember.  See those orangey cabinets peeking in from the bottom?

Vance put up the beadboard and art ledge along the wall but i haven't kept up my end of the deal with painting out the cabinet to match the mirror.  Enough dawdling - i'm starting this week since V is out of town and the boys are at their dad's.  I have seen some really cute inspiration on Pinterest...this photo belongs to Carly Robertson pulled from Pinterest via Flicker - but i'm not sure if she has a blog.  I love the shelves and the accessories!

And this is from google - so my bathroom will be a hybrid of above and below...  I think it will turn out super cute.

If it goes well - I may just venture on to the kitchen. I know, I can't believe i'm actually typing that either.  I think it's the after-effect of the frangelica in my coffee.  I blame it on that darn Miss Mustard Seed.

I'm sitting here, mindin' my bidness this morning, drinking my coffee (with a little somethin' extra) and darn it - i come across this.  Look at this gorgeousness.  Is it not perfection? Even if it's not a kitchen....  And then i bounce around and read how she painted her kitchen cabinets AND did a video on it.

Must.paint.NOW.

Well, that will carry me through the next month.  I mean 2 weeks. Yea, that's what I mean.  Stop laughing.

  1. I LOVE painted cabinets!! Read as much as you can -- it's really not hard! I am painting some bedroom furniture today, actually. I painted all the cabinets in our Valrico home. One thing I can say - TAKE YOUR TIME! Good Luck and can't wait to see!!
