A new year brings change - always - kind of like the glasses thing - and every year about this time I find myself thinking about what i might want to improve, or change in myself. Don't say resolution. I never resolve (that sounds so strong, doesn't it?) to make permanent change...ever. I make notes on things i might want to....attempt. My list is much shorter this year. Not sure yet if that's good or bad. But it's definitely an easier read.
So far on my list:
- Slow down. This means my laptop shuts down at 5:30 (latest) and i don't pick it up (or my droid) after dinner. Yes...this will be hard. Yes, i know there are going to moments where I cave. But i promise to at least be more aware, and to stop myself if the office isn't burning down.
- Instead of dieting i'm just going to buy clothes that fit. There. I said it. Oh yes i did.
- And those clothes I'm buying? Less Ann Taylor and more...bohemian. More Anthro. More Urban. More....FUN. I'm not my mother...yet.
- Vacuum my kitchen floor after dinner. I started doing that this past week, and it makes such a difference in how i feel when i walk into the kitchen the next day that's clean down to it's floor. Silly but true.
- Buy some of that jewelry on etsy that i have been coveting for such a long time.
Told you it wasn't a long list. Just my list. My sanity savers for 2011. I think i can do these.

That sounds like a good list to me. I don't make resolutions either, but say I may do this or I would like to accomplish that. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheri,
ReplyDeleteHow strange and wonderful that you and I are on a similar wavelengths regarding resolutions. LOL!
Your list sounds totally doable. Hope you have a wonderful new year!
Love it! I'm going to join you on the "just buying clothes that fit" thing. :-) And definitely the fun stuff! I really do think it is the small things that can end up making a big impact on our day-to-day lives and your list sounds just perfect. So glad you linked it up to the party and so glad to have met you this year here in blogland my friend!
ReplyDeleteI pray you have a blessed New Year,
Vanessa
Sounds good to me. I could certainly use less computer time as well and to somehow make my clothes feel more comfortable. Happy new year Sheri!

Good Lord, you are so refreshing, Sheri! Love the list; eminently practical, doable and self-loving. I'm not a resolutions girl, either; I'm more of a live-in-this-precious-moment girl. I also don't believe in "time", so the whole New Years thing doesn't resonate with me. (Plants and animals don't measure time; if I was on a desert island, there would be no time measurements. I partially concede only to conform to social convention.) I heartily applaud the Bohemian choices; friends have always told me that I'm very Earth Mother-ish. It's me. People would laugh if I did Ann Taylor. :-D
ReplyDeleteHey Sheri-I totally get the glasses...I need them...ahh since I turned 40 last month...all of a sudden I can't see.ugh! I am with you on your list!
ReplyDeleteHi! I saw your comment on Holly Mathis and laughed about you stepping on legos in the middle of the night!~ I can sooooo RELATE!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read more of your blog!!!
I like your list! I think it's my favorite so far! Because it's FUN! Now go put together some cute bohemian outfit!
ReplyDeleteI am diggin' your list. Sounds like a few things I want to try too. I'm glad you got the glasses, even if you can't find them. Seeing is believing! Thanks for being such a good friend, by the way. I am lucky to have you!
ReplyDeleteLordy I hear you on buying clothes that fit rather than starting that diet, again!
ReplyDeleteLove your list!
